Brent and Brian Sackett are headed in opposite directions. Brent is nearing California while Brian is headed for Fort Worth, Texas to start his training as a railroad detective. He has vowed vengeance on the three men and followed them to Dodge City, Kansas where he catches up with them. While there, Shell meets two old acquaintances, Quirt Adams and Bill Bell, who agree to help him get his lone prisoner back to New Mexico.
