Licenciada en comunicación y relaciones públicas, trabaja como jefa de comunicación de un centro de artes culturales y dedica su tiempo libre tanto a su arte como a su familia. Emelie, que vive en el norte de Suecia con su marido y sus dos hijas, a menudo se inspira en viejos cuentos populares y en su propia vida para sus ilustraciones.
