Fifteen years ago Gary wrote a fictional story about his oldest grandchild when she was five. He read it to her that Christmas Eve and gave it to her as a present. It was such a hit, he promised to do the same for each grandchild. That story and the promise became the genesis of Grandpa Noel's Stories. Twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-one stories later (one year he combined four grandkids into two stories), Grandpa's stories are woven into the fabric of their holiday festivities. Despite the growth in both numbers and physical size, the family still crowds into the family room on Christmas Eve for the reading of the latest story. Now he would like to share these stories with a wider audience. Each story is a separate, stand-alone tale featuring a different child. The main character(s) and family members are real, but the story is pure fabrication. Some are magical, others dream-like and a few a bit scary. The focus of all is the wonder of childhood.
