Pair the print or ebook with the audio book for a fun way for kids to learn to read using the phonetic system. The tale of Jessie and Gus was a favorite of the kids during the author's school readings. One class of eight year-olds asked if they could participate in the reading. The kids had a blast reading their parts out to the class and got quite into the characters, hence the format.
