He was a head coach for 23 years at four different high schools in two different states, Virginia and North Carolina. It is designed for you and your players to recognize formation and running back set keys so you can know what play your opponent can or will run from that formation or running back set. That is the key to playing effective defense regardless of the talent you have. Coach Renner provides you with his naming and labeling terminology for 27 tight end formations, 12 no tight end formations and 10 running back sets. It is a complete list that you need to name and be prepared to play against. He gives you a diagram for each step in his scouting process so you know exactly what that step should look like.
