As a parent to an African American male, in a world where he is automatically thought to be less than simply because of his skin color, my responsibility began when Jasir was in utero. I am intentional about pouring positivity into his bucket and teaching him to recognize all of the great things about himself that are intrinsic. I'm helping him to define himself before the world attempts to do it for him. The words I speak will become his mindset. I choose to speak life!
