Myanmarcalled Burma during the time of the British colonial ruleis a country that is a place of longing for me and I have visited it several times. I was accompanied here by the excellent Myanmar expert and photographer Kyaw Kyaw Winn, who has always been a great support. The secret of good photos is actually being in the right place at the right time. It is a special gift that over several years I have been able to document encounters with individuals of various ethnic backgrounds through the medium of photography. With this photo book I would like to share with others these experiences full of unique beauty and spiritual depth. Reserve and respect for peoples individual, personal integrities constantly caused me to ask those being photographed for their permission. My long years of experience of being with indigenous people and photographing them were a help here.
