Profesor y presidente asociado de Educación Médica en Neurobiología y Anatomía, y Decano Asociado de Admisiones, en la Escuela de Medicina y Odontología de la Universidad de Rochester. Recibió su doctorado en Anatomía de la Universidad de Tulane y ha tenido nombramientos de profesores en el Centro de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad de Texas en San Antonio y en la Universidad de Rochester. Anteriormente se desempeñó como la Cátedra de Neurobiología y Anatomía de Kilian J. y Caroline F. Schmitt y durante los últimos 14 años como Decano Asociado de Admisiones.
