Senior Adult Discipleship is composed of nine essentials for doing quality Christian education for the senior adult age group. This age group is generally thought of as adults who are age sixty-five and older. Church leaders simply must be led to address this major segment of believers and especially new members now. To fail to disciple current and new Christians, including those who are senior adults, is unacceptable in light of the urgency of Jesus in commissioning the early disciples. The senior adult age group is important to the enrichment of this special group and the overall work of Christ in the ministry of local churches. Furthermore, the concern of this book is not just to suggest ways to minister to senior adults. Rather, the book also emphasizes providing resources for leading senior adults themselves to engage in ministry. Spooner, Ph.D., general editor, has a lifetime of experience in helping churches, including fifteen years as a local church minister and more than three decades as a seminary and university professor and denominational leader. He served as the first dean of what is now the Graduate School of Ministry of Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, Texas.
