Hermann Hesse (Calw, Alemania, 1877 – Montagnola, Suiza, 1962), novelista y poeta, fue galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Literatura de 1946. Su obra es una de las más traducidas y laureadas de la literatura alemana, especialmente popular entre el público joven.
