People love their pets. Cats and dogs are members of the family, loved for who they are and what they bring to the home. This book is about those beloved furry friends and their personalities. Humorous, poignant, the text and pictures tell the tale of two family pets, cat and dog, and how different they are in terms of their personalities. All cat owners know that their pets are reserved, meticulous about their grooming, and likely to purr softly when pleased. Why, then, do we put up with and even adore these furry creatures? Because even in their manners finicky or relaxed, the animals are fun. In a broader sense, our book is about loving creatures for who they are, not for what they might or could be. It's about recognizing and loving a being for its good qualities, and its about laughing at the little things. When we wrote the book, we had in mind for our audience children who like to laugh, that is, all children. We suspect that all children also find comfort and enjoyment in the presence of pets, no matter how quirky they are.
