Toshikazu Kawaguchi (Osaka, Japón, 1971) es un autor y dramaturgo reconocido por su habilidad para combinar realismo mágico y sensibilidad humana. Antes de dedicarse a la novela, fue productor, director y guionista para el grupo teatral Sonic Snail, con obras destacadas como COUPLE, Sunset Song y Family Time.
