He is an intelligent, independent, receptive and fast dog. His flexible personality is certainly his first quality. He learns fast, listens perfectly, and has a great adapting ability. He is currently the most used herd guard in the world because he loves to please his master by serving him as guard. He is the perfect dog for the informed master. However, for a misinformed acquirer, he can be troublesome. The Border Collie is hyperactive, and you have to handle him with finesse and intelligence. His shepherd instinct appears at the age of 3 to 12 months. At that moment, he will show a specific interest in movement and will adopt a predator attitude. He can spend hours at the garden's fence, at the balcony's railing, or he will stare at the movement of the cars!
