This book contains Alexandre Dumas’s 1843 novel, "The Horoscope: A Romance of the Reign of Francois II". It is one of the 'Valois romances' of Alexandre Dumas, and one of his best and more underrated novels. Set to the backdrop of the political conditions in sixteenth-century France, it tells the story of a French nobleman called comte Gabriel de Montgomery and his attempts to unearth his family roots. This thrilling novel constitutes a must-read for fans of Dumas’s work, and would make for a worthy addition to any bookshelf. Alexandre Dumas (1802–1870) was a famous French writer. He is best remembered for his exciting romantic sagas, including "The Three Musketeers" and "The Count of Monte Cristo". Despite making a great deal of money from his writing, Dumas was almost perpetually penniless thanks to his extravagant lifestyle. His novels have since been translated into nearly a hundred different languages, and have inspired over two hundred motion pictures.
