The purpose of these exercises is to help you to decide what to do with your relationship. Originally, this workbook was designed for couples already engaged in marriage therapy. This edition has been revised and expanded so that those just thinking about counseling or thinking about divorce might benefit from its use. The first part - A CEASE FIRE - offers steps that can be taken to lessen tension without any commitment either to reconcile or to terminate a relationship. The second part of the exercises are basic steps towards peace. They, too, can be taken without a firm decision either to stay together or to split apart. Part three outlines steps towards reconciliation. These steps can be taken to see if a mutually satisfying relationship is possible. Part four assumes that a commitment has been made to this relationship. Love, intimacy and looking forward are steps toward union.
