This volume is part of an exciting experiment in scholarship: to promote an innovative approach to plurilingualism. Royalties from sales of this work will support the "Jon Hassall Memorial Fund for the encouragement of Jazz at Trinity College of Music, Old Naval College, Greenwich, SE10 9JF UK." Translator into Turkish: Sevim Ay Keles is a graduate of the Foreign Language Education Department of Bogazici University, Istanbul. She has studied Sociolinguistics, Language Transfer of Bilinguals, and Language Learning and Acquisition; in addition to linguistics. Sevim's experience of teaching, includes Teaching English to adult learners, young learners and teenagers. During the 21st Conference of International Association for World Englishes (2015), she collaborated with Peter Hassall. The New Potter: Turkish-English Bilingual Reader is Volume One of the World Turkish Bilingual Readers Series. This series consists of stories from around the world written with carefully controlled vocabulary and grammar making them suitable for learners and users of both Turkish and other languages. A variety of realistic and exciting themes encourage encourage reading for pleasure. Parallel series include Bilingual Readers and Translation Workbooks to encourage self-study, teaching/learning and translation to/from other languages. The Bilingual Readers support user preference being presented in 2 formats depending on the language that appears first in each paragraph. These Bilingual Readers also provide an expert translation solution for the complementary Translation Workbooks, which can be used to stimulate written and/or oral translation. The New Potter - Grandfather is becoming too old to make pots anymore. Who will take over his work? His grand-daughter Jamilah is the only person interested, but making pots is not a girl's work.
