The Pig That Couldn't Quite Oink! is the first picture book in the Kids Strong Animal Series of short stories that help kids cope with life issues stemming from disabilities. The book is fun to read, with repeated limericks to help with word recognition. It is written for any child who loves to read, and this book will enhance their real-life experiences. In the story, the main character, Little Joey, grows up with a hearing loss that at first goes unrecognized. Initially, the other barnyard animals only see that Joey is different and never answers questions or engages in conversations. However, as everyone discovers, Joey is a wonderful pig who is quite capable of absorbing things around him and learning about himself, and ultimately grows to understand his own strengths and abilities. Come on an adventure with Little Joey as he discovers and grows!
