As 2000 AD celebrates fifty years of publishing mind-bending weekly comics, The 2000 AD Visual History details year-by-year the evolution of the comic and the legion of legendary stories it has published.
Debuting in 1977, the weekly comic 2000 AD immediately proved to be a bombshell of a comic. Ushering in an exciting new era of British pop culture, "The Galaxy's Greatest Comic" is home to some of the most popular characters of the British comics scene – including Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dog, Sláine, and Nemesis the Warlock.
As 2000 AD celebrates fifty years of publishing mind-bending weekly comics, The 2000 AD Visual History details year-by-year the evolution of the comic and the legion of legendary stories it has published. For the first time readers can join 2000 AD's alien editor Tharg The Mighty as he takes them on a voyage through the history of the long-running British comic anthology, and heads behind the scenes to show how the visionary science-fiction comic was created.
Featuring rare sketches and test pages from artists including Dave Gibbons, Simon Bisley and Judge Dredd creator Carlos Ezquerra, all of whom would go on to revolutionise the world of comics and inspire legions of fans around the globe, the Visual History celebrates artistry from across five separate decades of weekly comics. With concept pages and sketches from Kevin O'Neill's Nemesis The Warlock right through to Brian Bolland's Judge Dredd, this is an absolute must for comic fans!
