(The eBook version is a Short Read.) This is part of a series of shorts from Christopher Meeks of modern life in America. When his first short story collection, "The Middle-Aged Man and the Sea" came out, the Los Angeles Times called his work "poignant and wise, sympathetic to the everyday struggles the characters face." Entertainment Weekly wrote it was a "stunning" collection. He continues here with his trademark insight and humor.
