A Heroic Crown and Other Sonnets is a collection of 110 sonnets written by Paul Gilliland between 2020 and 2022. It includes traditional Italian, English, Spenserian, Terza Rima, and Couplet sonnets; the more obscure Kyrielle, Vondel, Pushkin, Jeffreys, and Brisbane sonnets; the newer Eramonean, DOnnet, Reflective, and Form 28 Sonnets, and Paul Gilliland's own creations of the Fourteener, Drabble, Golden, and Inverted Trochaic sonnets. He has included the collection of his 25 Zodiac Sonnets, an English Sonnet for each sign of the Tropical and Chinese zodiac while interspersing acrostics in sonnet form. The collection is topped off by the inclusion of his epic 15 stanza A Soldier's Heroic Crown Sonnet. He has also included a brief description of each sonnet form included in this collection.
