The 2002 Code of Arbitrazh Procedure of the Russian Federation governs litigation in the arbitrazh courts of Russia, which specialize in commercial and certain tax and administrative litigation, including the recognition and enforcement of foreign court decisions and foreign arbitral awards. These courts play the leading role in the enforcement of Russian sanctions legislation. Butler is the John Edward Fowler Distinguished Professor of Law Emeritus, Penn State Dickinson Law; Emeritus Professor of Comparative Law in the University of London (University College London); Academician, Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine; Titular Member, International Academy of Comparative Law; member of the international courts of commercial arbitration of Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, and Ukraine; and author of the standard work, Russian Law and Legal Institutions (2021). xlviii, 524 pp.
