A good yarn, to use an old-fashioned term, but this is just that: characters that you can care about and believe exist.The story expresses the optimism of the author's upbringing in a working class Catholic household where education gave the promise of a better, fairer world. This is a world on the cusp of exploration, ready to take risks and face the challenges of today. The cost of this endeavour is sacrifice, and, as in so many times in history, we are lucky to have people step forward and pay the price. These are the true heroes and heroines of humanity. They are flawed, yet brave, inspirational and selfless.
