17,88 €This edition restores the Gospel of Matthew from the Hebrew textual tradition, informed by early Christian witnesses-Origen, Justin Martyr, Epiphanius, and others-and by the Syriac Sinaiticus discovered in the 19th century by Agnes Lewis. Our aim is to present, in clear modern English, the closest accessible form of Matthew as it circulated before the end of the first century. The church fathers consistently report that Matthew was first written in Hebrew; this work brings that tradition to today's readers for study and devotion. We have also updated this version with page numbering and RBG text where the words of Yeshua are in red, the words of YHWH God are in blue, and the words of angels are in green.
Over two millennia, texts shift. Many readings were shaped to fit imperial Roman doctrine, yielding Latin and Greek standards that can sound different from the first-century remembrance of Yeshua taught by the Twelve. Placing early witnesses side-by-side reveals just how much changed.
This volume invites you to hear Yeshua's teaching on salvation afresh. Nothing in this restoration-grounded in the Hebrew stream and testimonies predating Nicaea-imperils the gospel's promise of your salvation. Read with eyes to see and ears to hear what the Holy Spirit speaks, and pray that YHWH opens your heart as you consider these pages. Shalom.
