Reseña del libro "Heroes of Borikén (en Inglés)"

Celebrate the heroes, symbols and beauty of Puerto Rico with Heroes of Borikén, a colouring book made for young Boricuas and the families who love them. Inside, children will meet the men and women who shaped the island's history, from Ramón Emeterio Betances and Eugenio María de Hostos to Lola Rodríguez de Tió, Mariana Bracetti, José de Diego, Julia de Burgos and Pedro Albizu Campos.Alongside its heroes, the book takes children through the heart of Puerto Rican culture: the Flag of Lares and the Grito de Lares, La Borinqueña, the coat of arms, bomba y plena, the jibarito, El Yunque, the coquí, the flamboyán, the flor de maga, Old San Juan, the Taíno sun and a table full of Boricua food. Each picture comes with its name and a short description, so colouring becomes a way to learn and to talk about where we come from. Each of the 23 illustrations is printed on its own page, so markers will not ruin the next drawing. With its large 8.5 × 11 in format and clean, bold lines, Heroes of Borikén suits children at home, in the classroom or in catechesis, and makes a meaningful gift for keeping Puerto Rican identity alive wherever our families live.
