The Old Testament book of Habakkuk focuses on the prophet's prayerful conversation with God as he receives the Lord's decree of coming judgment for Judah. He wondered how God could be silent when the wicked swallow up those more righteous than they. As the exchange continues, God answers the prophet's complaint. And though the response may not be what Habakkuk hoped for, it guides him to a place of renewed faith.

Habakkuk's response provides a faithful example: one that waits for the Lord to speak, acknowledges His sovereignty, prays for mercy, and resolves to worship no matter what.
