Twelve-year-old Cotton Kinney has everything a boy could want--except a dog. Fred Gipson was born and raised in the Texas hill country. He was made famous by Old Yeller and Savage Sam, but said that he liked Hound-dog Man the best of any book he wrote. Hound-dog Man vividly recreates the Texas that Gipson knew so well.
