Meet Abi, short for Abigail. She is a created character cast in this story as the great-granddaughter of Hermnah, servant of Nabal, Ruler of Carmel, and his wife, Abigail. Abi's father was just a boy when their community was threatened with certain death. David and his army of men were on their way to the "House of Nabal," preparing for annihilation. Their assignment: "Kill every male in existence!"

Why? What happened to cause this awful fate to be pronounced over their community? Abi, a mother now, is preparing to pass down her family's historical rendition of a great love story involving "Queen Abigail the Carmelite" to her soon-to-be-married daughter, also named Abigail. As their community prepares for their annual week of celebration, honoring their Matriarch for her acts of heroism, Momma Abi invites us along as she introduces her daughter by way of "Storytelling" to this great woman and her actions that saved their community, thus earning her a marriage proposal from reserved pending king.

Additionally, ten short, assorted, thought-provoking "In Her Shoes" stories are shared here for those of us who desire to be a bride for the first time, or yet again. Be it a joyful circumstance or an endured plight, the depictions of these created characters will help to confirm readiness, or expose naked truths as the Holy Spirit intimately engages, reveals, encourages, and, in some cases, heals understanding. God loves all of His sons and daughters, and as believing members of the "Body of Christ," the love found in that relationship reigns supreme as we, "The Church," await the coming of our Spiritual Groom, Jesus Christ. Therefore, we should be comforted in the knowledge that we are spiritually betrothed to our Beloved. For we are "The Bride of Christ!"
