This book is written for ESL students to help learn English faster and have ability to carry conversation the American way. It is a dictionary and a text book combined in a unique way. The words in this book are carefully chosen, up to a high school level. They are those most commonly used in every day conversation and then, arranged in alphabetical order, so they can be easily found. The main purpose of the book is to help you build vocabulary, understand the meanings and learn how to utilize them in a full sentence. The author also list synonyms, antonyms and related words to aid the understanding of the main words, as well as to further increase your vocabulary. This book transcribes each word's pronunciation and accent placement in standard American English. They are perhaps the most crucial tools in speaking and understanding English. We have to change our incorrect pronunciation in order to enable us to properly communicate with American neighbors. In English, one word often has many various meanings in different contexts, causing a lot of confusion for ESL students. The author carefully chose and described each word definition more clearly than any traditional dictionaries available and created one or more full sentences for each targeted word, which will help you understand and use the words in every day conversation.
