Reseña del libro "Legitimized Violence Against Women (en Inglés)"

Women's history reveals a persistent pattern of marginalization, erasure, gendered victimization, and confinement within patriarchal roles upheld by cultural and political structures that normalize violence. This book examines a contemporary manifestation of that long-standing oppression: the systematic targeting, persecution, state-organized violence, and victimization of women during Türkiye's post-2016 State of Emergency. Focusing on those dismissed by Decree Laws (KHKs), it documents the profound consequences borne by women who were expelled from their professions, criminalized without due process, arbitrarily detained, imprisoned--often alongside their infants--and subjected to a sustained and deliberate system of coercion and social annihilation. Authored largely by KHK victims themselves, this volume exposes the multilayered harms produced by an authoritarian regime that weaponized law, bureaucracy, and religious discourse to legitimize violence against women in one of the darkest chapters of modern Turkish history.
