In this new detective series set on the islands off the Pacific Northwest, Noel Franklin and Kyra Rachel team up to form Islands Investigations International. Quickly they come to realize that some crimes respect no boundaries. Their first job takes Noel and Kyra to Gabriola Island and the murder of an art gallery groundkeeper. A police investigation ensues, without immediate success. Upset by a suggestive article about the murder in the local paper, the gallery owner calls on Noel, an ex-investigative reporter and asks him to find evidence that will eliminate the spreading rumors. Noel agrees and asks his long-time friend Kyra, an insurance investigator from Bellingham, Washington, to help. As Noel and Kyra work on the case they fall prey to those they need to trust, and discover that even charming island communities can keep deadly secrets. [i]Never Sleep With a Suspect[/i] is the first mystery in the series, which alternates between Canada and the US. The next mystery, [i]Always Kiss the Corpse[/i], is set on Washington State's Whidbey Island.
