This study examines the discourse structure and textuality of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Purple Hibiscus, Zikora, and Dear Ijeawele: or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions from a text-linguistic perspective. The study is motivated by the relative scarcity of linguistic studies that examine how textual texture is constructed in Adichie's works, particularly Zikora and Dear Ijeawele. It adopts Beaugrande and Dressler's Text Linguistic Approach, complemented by Halliday's Systemic Functional Grammar, with particular emphasis on the textual metafunction and its role in the realisation of cohesion. Data were purposively selected from the three texts and subjected to qualitative analysis at the lexical, semantic and syntactic levels. The analysis focuses on reference, substitution, synonymy, hyponymy, collocation, conjunction and ellipsis, while graphological features, dialectal features, code-mixing, code-switching, locations and registers are examined in relation to acceptability and situationality.
