The Beginning of Dance (en Inglés) - A. A. Glover

Long, long ago, before the snow, music was waiting to be discovered...

Little Gina lives in a cave beside a misty waterfall, where owls hoot, wolves howl, and woolly mammoths stomp. While her parents hunt for food, Gina listens closely to the world around her, and she starts to make sounds of her own.

She blows into a seashell by the sea. She plays a flute carved from bone. She shakes a gourd rattle, swings a roaring bullroarer, and taps out rhythms on a hollow log. Soon Papa Earl is playing the flute, Mother Linda is clapping and singing, and Gina is dancing and dancing!

With rhythmic, read-aloud text and warm, glowing illustrations, The Beginning of Dance imagines how music and dance first came to be. It’s a joyful story about creativity, family, and finding yourself through song.

Inside you’ll find:

• A lyrical story that’s fun to read aloud

• Richly illustrated scenes of Stone Age life

• A bonus page, "Music from Long Ago," about real prehistoric instruments, including bone flutes over 40,000 years old

Perfect for little dancers, budding musicians, and curious minds ages 3-7. A wonderful bedtime story and a sweet gift for dance recitals, birthdays, and music lovers.
