Once, Winston Churchill said: "We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender." This book is to defend Albania's history. At the end of WWI, Edith Durham wrote a letter to her Albanian friend stating the opinion of Europe. "In the eyes of the vast majority of people in Europe, Albania counts only as a good position for strategy and commerce. The Albanians themselves count as less than nothing and have neither rights nor history. That is Europe's opinion. And the Albanians would be sacrificed without hesitation in order to make a peace that was satisfactory to the powers in general. No country has ever been in or is in a more dangerous position." This book tells four stories with Albanians at the center of them: Constantine the Great, Scanderbeg the Hero of Europe, Why President Wilson Saved Albania, and At Taliban's Gunpoint.
