Reseña del libro "The Detective's Wife (en Inglés)"
Everyone stares in admiration at my husband. As he accepts his award for excellence in service, his warm smile draws everyone in. Until a reporter shouts, "Detective Slater, did you kill your ex-wife?"When I first heard about Hannah Slater's death, my heart stopped: we had the same auburn hair, brown eyes and difficult childhoods. It could have been me in that grave. Then I met Conor. Soon, I was putting Hannah's clothes in the attic and raising his children while he was out fighting monsters. He looks over. "I couldn't have gotten through this year without Han..." He catches himself. "Without my beautiful wife, Jo, and my two children."Beside me, the children go still. I want to walk out-keep walking until I hit the Tennessee River. Instead, I smile: the supportive wife, who understood, when she married him, exactly what she was getting into.Except I didn't. There are parts of Conor Slater I didn't account for-that keep me up at three a.m., listening to him breathing. Then a voice rings out: "Detective Slater, did you kill your ex-wife?"Every head turns toward me."Did you know you married a murderer?"But the question isn't whether I believe Conor Slater killed his first wife. It's how I know that he did. And why I married him anyway. An unbelievably twisty psychological thriller from international multi-million-copy bestseller Mary Stone that will have you gasping out loud.
