Reseña del libro "The Jurisprudence of Life (en Inglés)"
Why We Translated This Book In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. We, Syeda Sarah Rizvi and Maulana Syed Hussain Naqvi, began a shared project with the intention of translating important Islamic works into accessible English for a generation that increasingly seeks knowledge through the English language. We believe that there are many valuable Islamic texts containing essential knowledge that deserve to reach a wider audience. Our aim is not simply to translate words from one language into another, but to help make beneficial knowledge accessible to those who may otherwise struggle to reach or understand these works. What Is Taqleed? was therefore one of the works that we considered particularly important to translate. The subject of Taqleed is not a minor or secondary matter. It is an important aspect of understanding how a believer approaches their religious responsibilities, particularly in matters where specialised Islamic knowledge is required. In an age where information is available everywhere, we are surrounded by countless opinions, short clips, social media posts and individuals presenting religious answers without necessarily having the required knowledge or qualifications. While access to information can be a blessing, it can also create confusion when authentic knowledge becomes mixed with personal opinion, incomplete understanding and conflicting interpretations. For this reason, understanding Taqleed is particularly vital in today’s day and age. A believer should not have to navigate religious questions through confusion, uncertainty or whichever opinion happens to appear most convincing online. There is a need to understand the principles behind seeking qualified religious guidance and why such a system exists within Islamic jurisprudence. By understanding the subject properly, a person can approach their religious responsibilities with greater clarity, awareness and confidence. This book was translated with that purpose in mind: to help remove confusion, encourage understanding and assist believers in remaining steadfast upon their religious responsibilities. We hope that this translation serves as a starting point for those who have heard the word Taqleed but have never properly understood what it means, as well as for those who may have encountered questions or doubts surrounding the subject. Rather than allowing unanswered questions to become a source of uncertainty, we hope this work encourages readers to seek knowledge, reflect carefully and strengthen their connection with their faith. Our translation project is something that we, Syeda Sarah Rizvi and Maulana Syed Hussain Naqvi, have undertaken together because we believe that knowledge should be made accessible, especially knowledge that can help a person understand and practise their religion with greater certainty. This book is one of the main works we felt should be brought to English-speaking audiences. We pray that this translation becomes a means of benefit for students, families, young people and anyone seeking a clearer understanding of Taqleed. Ultimately, our intention is simple: to translate, to educate and to serve. We ask Allah (swt) to accept this humble effort, to protect us from error, to increase us in beneficial knowledge, and to allow this work to become a means of removing confusion and strengthening the believers upon the path of the Ahlulbayt (ع).
