The four gospel excerpts are taken from the Doauy Rheims translation. This small volume is perfect for meditation on the Passion and Lectio Divina.The saints have always encouraged the meditation on the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ in order to grow both in our love for Him as well as in sorrow for our sins. "All love that takes not its beginning from Our Saviour's Passion is frivolous and dangerous"-St Francis De Sales"No one at all can humbly read or think of the passion of our Lord, although he should do so without much sensible affection, without reaping from this exercise fruit most useful for salvation; just as no one could touch flour or balm, even with the tips of his fingers, without having his fingers whitened with flour and perfumed with the odour of balm.
