Wesley Chu es un autor de ciencia ficción y fantasía nacido el 23 de septiembre de 1976 en Taipéi, Taiwán. Pasó su infancia con sus abuelos en Taiwán mientras sus padres estudiaban en los EE. UU., y en 1982 se mudó para reunirse con ellos en Nebraska, trasladándose más tarde a Chicago. Estudió Sistemas de Información en la Universidad de Illinois, después trabajó varios años en banca y consultoría.

Su carrera literaria despegó con su debut, The Lives of Tao, publicado en 2013, que le valió un reconocimiento inmediato. Desde entonces ha escrito numerosas novelas, incluyendo las series Tao, Io, Time Salvager, y ha colaborado con otros autores en sagas juveniles populares. Su estilo mezcla acción, humor, ciencia ficción especulativa y fantasía, a menudo explorando temas como la identidad, los extraterrestres, viajes en el tiempo, y los conflictos morales en universos expandidos.

Además de escritor, Wesley Chu ha tenido experiencias en el cine y la televisión como actor, modelo y doble de riesgo. También practica artes marciales, y ha realizado hazañas personales como subir el Kilimanjaro. Vive en Los Ángeles junto con su familia.
