The Room Behind The Wall (en Inglés) - D.M. Vale

Fourteen years after burying her sister, Clara Bell receives a bill addressed to a dead woman.

Eighteen dollars for the storage of a wooden chair.

The address leads to a vacant lot where a department store once stood. But the chair is there, sitting beside the fence, painted the same awful shade of orange her sister Nora used on their mother’s furniture.

Then Clara finds an old photograph. In it, she and Nora are standing beside a little boy she’s never seen before. When the boy calls her, he insists she knows him. He even remembers things they did together.

Clara has no idea who he is.

As she searches for answers, she discovers that other people in town have noticed strange things. Buildings appear in places they shouldn’t exist. Records change overnight. People remember lives that, according to everyone else, never happened.

And behind it all is a city department that seems determined to keep certain things forgotten.

Clara thought the worst thing that could happen was losing her sister. Now she’s beginning to wonder how much of her own life has been taken from her, and whether finding Nora means uncovering a truth someone has gone to extraordinary lengths to bury.
