Transformation of Great European Cities. The Birth of a New Urban Era (en Inglés) - Martin Aarts

Spatial analysis of 10 Dutch housing projects provide practical guidelines to improving the health of city dwellers

How can we build more homes while maintaining, and even improving, quality of life? The Transformation of Great European Cities delves into the relationship between housing density and human well-being. Deploying technologies from the field of neuroarchitecture and AI, along with interviews and spatial research, it reveals how the built environment influences our experience and mental health. Case studies of 10 Dutch housing projects, including Overhoeks in Amsterdam, Merwede in Utrecht, Little C in Rotterdam and Duin in Almere, yield a number of practical guidelines. This book is part of an nai010 series on urban development, following the successful Neuroarchitecture and Nature-Inclusive Urban Development.
