Under the Cover of Darkness (en Inglés) - Kat Markley

Kat Markley describes her journey from a childhood filled with severe abuse, neglect, and unthinkable betrayal to the earliest stages of self-discovery and hope in this heartbreaking and uncompromisingly honest memoir. Born in 1959, Kathleen spent years being abused emotionally, physically, and sexually by the very people who were supposed to protect her after being placed in a foster home that promised safety but instead delivered torture. She reveals the harsh reality of growing up in a home where violence, secrecy, and fear were the norm through moving, vivid memories. However, these pages contain a testament to survival as well as a chronicle of suffering. For those who have suffered in silence, Kathleen's voice-raw and strong-is a lighthouse. Because sharing her story is the first step toward justice, healing, and recovering the parts of her life that were taken but always deserved love, it is imperative that her story be heard.
