Motivated by the way in which people carry out calculations, we opted for the theme: "Use of basic arithmetic operations (subtraction, addition, division and multiplication)" in order to verify the procedures applied to find the result. To achieve this, we targeted the territory of Kabinda as the area of investigation, specifically the city of Kabinda, capital of the Province of Lomami/DRC, in a time frame ranging from 2020 to 2021, with a well-defined study population, only students pursuing the computer science course in the existing institutions.Our observations made on the answers provided by our study population lead us to a conclusion according to which the calculations are badly carried out by the majority of people and that implies the lack of attention on the rules of calculation, and in the same way, an arithmetic expression can give only one and only true result. Thus, we confirm our hypotheses.
