Reseña del libro "A Voice in the Wilderness: Howls from Vox Deplorables (en Inglés)"
There once was a weblog with the name "Vox Deplorables: Notes from Flyover Country." It had a brief life of just three years, but those years covered the last two-thirds of the Trump presidency and the first eventful weeks of Biden's term. During that tumultuous era the blog carried over 150 full-length, incisive articles that addressed a wide spectrum of subjects. These included not only politics but also science, philosophy, the arts, sports and life in general. One thing all the articles had was the virtue of cutting to the truth; one thing they lacked was pure political correctness. Fifty of these insightful and hard-hitting works are collected here and tied together by new commentary. These articles are primarily those concerned with government-related issues, the media and the law. The topics of socialism, the Constitution and its current place in American life, the Left and its foibles and the evolution of the media into its current form are examined deeply and without much mercy, but with a touch of humor. Most of the material dates from before the 2020 election and much of it even before the onset of a Chinese import known as the coronavirus, but it is stunningly relevant today. The reason is clear: history will judge the short span of time during which Vox Deplorables lived to be on a par with the Revolution and the Civil War as one of the most dramatic and momentous of the American experience. These articles fully reflect the times with perception, emotion and wit. They constitute both a mirror of the recent past and a window into the future. This book is entirely the work of one of the authors of Vox Deplorables, Dr. Gerald Prager.
