Escritora y profesora de yoga. Se crio entre Malasia, de donde es la mayor parte de su familia, y el Reino Unido. Esta mezcla cultural ha inspirado algunas de sus novelas dedicadas a jóvenes adultos.

Ngan estudió Geografía en la Universidad de Cambridge. Tras su formación comenzó a trabajar como consultora de redes sociales y bloguera de moda. Reside en Francia, donde enseña yoga y escribe sus historias.

En lo literario, Ngan es conocida principalmente por su trilogía juvenil conformada por los títulos Chicas de papel y de fuego, Chicas de tormentas y sombras y Chicas de muerte y furia.
